Have you ever had a yen to try out a hike in the Finger Lakes area, but didn't have a clue how to begin? There are 1000 miles of marked and mapped trail right in your own backyard on the Finger Lakes Trail (FLT). How do we find this trail, you ask? Where would be a nice scenic day hike for the novice hiker? What should we bring? How do we get back to our car?
FLTC Sampler Hikes for 2017 includes four hikes exploring the central and western Finger Lakes Trail. ¬†Hike 1, May 27, 2017, will be an introduction to the Crystal Hills Trail (map CH1). Hike 2, June 17, 2017, ¬†will be on the Letchworth Trail from Whiskey Bridge to Dygert Rd. (map L2). Hike 3, July 15, 2017, will be from Sawmill Run Rd. to Bucktooth Run Rd. (map CT/M2) Hike 4, August 19, 2017, will travel from Rt 242 and Phillips Rd to Bear Creek Forest. (map M4)
